Did aliens build the Coliseum and the Parthenon?
I know they didn’t; Bigfoot did. My real question is why do some people automatically assume Aliens built ancient monuments like the Pyramids. Why do they think ancient peoples (usually non-Western ones) were too stupid to figure it out? Don’t they realize how insulting and condescending it sounds towards the ancient peoples and their modern descendents? Doesn’t it say more about our lack of ingenuity and creativity that we can’t figure out how pre-modern people did it?

Yes, you are correct sir!

I guess that they are so advanced “buildings” for lack of a more pepper word.. that people can’t believe that these “less advanced” people could pull something that big off..
Its often because its hard to imagine that ancient peoples were able to build such things without modern technology. In no way is it suggesting that the ancient peoples were dumb or below modern humans, just that they didn’t have the benefit of modern tools and materials. For instance, Egyptian obelisks, some of which were 68ft long and weighing 120 tons. It’s pretty hard to grasp how they were able to erect an object that massive without modern technology! I personally don’t believe in alien theories, but how they managed such things is pretty puzzling.
Good catch question.
The problem is —- is that there are all these incredible structures around the world and ….
1) We really have no idea how they were built — only intelligent guesses.
2) We really have no idea how the materials were transported and placed.
3) Many of these structures purpose is beyond our reasoning
4) We really have no idea why they were built.
5) We have no idea how the stones were cut, what they were cut with, how they were lifted, or how they were placed.
6) We don’t understand the construction of one of these oddities that can only be viewed from high up in the sky — and how they were laid out with no aerial view to guide them.
7) We cannot do what they did even with all of our modern technology.
I could go on and on here, but I won’t.
I do understand how you feel though.
When discussing incredible ancient civilizations they tend to downplay the American ones, the Aztec, Inca, and Mayan — which are in fact twice as amazing as those found in the Middle East….. which ticks me off.
The Middle East had thousands of years of learning from cross cultures and the mingling of races and ideas.
The people of the Americas had none of that — only themselves.
But that is also where the problems come in.
Let’s take the Inca for instance — my personal favorite.
They showed up around 1200 AD, suddenly became master builders of incredible structures, temples, and cities, developed roads and incredible trade routes, somehow developed stone working skills that we cannot duplicate and also suddenly became master astronomers greater than even those of ancient Persia.
Then the Spanish came in 1492 — and that was it for them.
It almost seems like they really were a totally different people from somewhere else with knowledge no one else had.
A people with no past and no future built and ran a civilization for a mere 300 years that rivaled Egypt then they just disappeared —-even the locals do not understand who they were or why the whole civilization disappeared and never again showing any aptitude whatsoever of former greatness.
It is a puzzle.
And that is how we got “aliens did it”.
You are completely right. (Btw, it wasn’t Bigfoot but the Cyclops!)
It is human nature to try to explain things the easiest way – which usually involves gods, cyclops, and little green men from Mars. And Bigfoot, of course.
We have a strange idea in our heads that technological advancement = social/cultural advancement. Many people struggle with the idea that knowledge and skills can be lost, and that supposedly “primitive” or “less developed” societies and cultures could have had more technological skill and knowledge than us.
You are exactly right, it is insulting and condescending. I don’t think it’s just a lack of ingenuity, I think it’s also wilful ignorance when we find archaeological evidence of things like the Baghdad battery and then either ignore them completely or try to pretend they don’t exist.
Because we didnt have such technology and tools to build stuff bak den and plus they were made for no reason but aliens built some of them not all of them because aliens build these huge monuments in lines of areas of high strange activity that some places like the bermuda triangle is a worm hole to get to an alien world from earth or the other way around.
The Romans used German slaves to build the Coliseum. Only Germans can build great things like that. The people in Greece and Egypt at the time that the various pyramids and the Parthenon were built were much more a Germanic people than the present day inhabitants are. Both Greece and Egypt have been overrun many times by the quickly breeding desert and tropical people. The resulting dilution of their Germanic blood lines is why these countries can no longer achieve anything. Only those of Germanic or Aryan descent are able to design or build anything great. Everyone knows that.
