		<description>I&#039;ll agree with your premise, however I just wanted to point out that your definition of U.S. citizenship is not correct. The 14th amendment does not provide U.S. citizenship to people born within the United States. 

There is a very important AND that you are missing. It is this and, that most liberals wish they could erase, and that the Supreme Court has pretended doesn&#039;t exist.

The citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment reads:

&quot;All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside.&quot;

&quot;AND SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION THEREOF&quot;

Well what does that mean? If you really want to know just ask the man who wrote the 14th Amendment.

Senator Jacob Howard proposed the 14th Amendment to the senate in 1866 and discussed it&#039;s meaning during open sessions of the senate.

He elaborated that simply being born on U.S. soil does not make you a citizen, but rather your complete and total allegiance to the United States coupled with your birth location is what makes you a citizen. He goes on to talk about &quot;anchor babies&quot; and how they are born from parents who have an allegiance to a foreign power, which prevents them from being citizens or giving birth to citizens.

In Senators Howard&#039;s time, the senate was more concerned with Native Americans, and Senator Howard pointed out to the senate that while Native Americans were born on U.S. soil, they are not considered U.S. citizens.

To put this into modern political terms, I&#039;ll give you what I believe is a clear example that liberals and the Supreme Court probably don&#039;t want to acknowledge.

Sir Nigel Elton Sheinwald is the current British Ambassador to the United States. He wifes name is Julia Dunne, and they have three sons together. As Ambassador, Sheinwald and his wife make regular visits to the United States. What if during one of those visits, Julia gave birth to a son, on American soil, in an American hospital? Do you think that child would be an American citizen or a British subject?

Anyone who thinks that he is an American simply because he was born here is seriously kidding themselves. Not only that, but I would bet that the Queen would like to have a chat with you...
