How would humans react to aliens landing on earth?
Would our government react with violence or would we welcome them? Would they be considered illegal aliens? We aren’t the only intelligent life form in the universe.

we would try to capture them, see if they can be destroyed by a nuke (we will throw bombs at them) and after that cut them open to see what they are made of. after all that we will go dressed in impermeable suits to kill them and take the technology.

Normal reaction should be awe. To be able to cross the vast distance between star means extraordinarily advanced technology .
Reacting with violence would be the mark of extraordinary stupidity. Think of the order of a caveman threatening a nuclear powered super carrier complete with advanced combat aircraft with annihilation.
As for the statement “We aren’t the only intelligent life form in the universe”, although it is likely, it has not been proven, i.e. there is a possibility that we are.
Well, I am pretty sure it would send a lot Churches into a spin! (side from Scientologists of course!)
Personally I think I would handle it with trepidation. On the one hand there would a lot excitement, but on the other I would also have a fear and wonderment of the unknown.
As for the statement of “We aren’t the only intelligent life form in the universe.” This is rather presumptuous. Even if you do use the Drake equation! It has not been proved for it to exist anywhere aside form Earth – even then one would wonder at the intelligence of some people…see the R&S or Alternative sections…wow!
we would have no choice but to treat them with kindness because they obviously have the superior technology and as such weaponry.

I would keep my distance until I knew their intentions, then I would want to make some space buddies!!!
