I think that your idea of a large community starship that travels on a one-way trip for many generation to reach another star is very realistic. I believe that someday people will actually do this. It is so difficult to accelerate a ship up to even a fraction of the speed of light that an interstelar journey would take thousands of years.
Aliens might be doing this now but I don’t see any evidence that any asteroids are spaceships.
By the way, there was a Star Trek episode in the original series based on exactly your idea: a spaceship made to look like an asteroid.

if by quit u mean stop smokin the ganja then yea, its time to quit. weve flown unmanned space craft through the tails of commets to find out what they do, and as for asteroids…theres an asteroid belt with thousands, i dont think theyre all (or any of them for that matter) spaceships.
