Are widespread conspiracy theories the result of more information?
There have always been conspiracy theories, such as the cult of Bacchus engaging in treason against the Romans, and Christians burning down Rome. But are conspiracy theories more common and more acceptable in the age of information traveling at the speed of light? If that is the case, why? We have tons of information at our fingertips, so wouldn’t accurate information be more accessible?
Thanks.

Yes, more information is available, but so is inaccurate information. There is no way to tell them apart either.
When a truther says “buildings can’t fall at the speed of a free falling object”, they are making that up and adding to the “information” online that has no measure of truth to it.

YES. The biggest problem facing the conspirators is that people today can expose them, discuss them, and fight against them via the internet.
