  1. LaurelHS says:

They’re not real, they’re just normal contrails that irrational people get paranoid about for some reason. They can’t even make up their minds about who’s spraying the alleged chemtrails and what their purpose is supposed to be.

  2. Soilguy says:

    Made up by conspiracy theorists.

An important thing to consider about this particular conspiracy theory is that if someone wanted to infect, poison or drug people with a chemical or biological agent, spreading it in the atmosphere at 20,000 to 30,000 feet would be extremely ineffective, if it could have any affect at all.

Some of the idiotic things I’ve heard from people who believe in this one is, “But they’re all going in the same direction, running the same pattern!” Since they’re contrails mostly from commercial jets, they are following a set route that they all follow. If someone were trying to poison us all, wouldn’t they try to spread it out a little?

For any conspiracy theory that you hear, question the one who believes it. What is behind the belief? Usually it’s very little. When pressed, they often try to turn the tables by claiming you are stupid or brainwashed if you don’t think there is something to their theory. They also might point to a website or piece of literature that looks like it was put together by a babbling kook (for good reason). They also might bring up famous inventors, explorers or scientists who were “initially laughed at.” If they say any of these without providing anything of substance, assume they’re wrong.
