Question: If the decendants of the nephilim were the anakites, then was the flood a local one?
If goliath was an anakite, then the nephilim, his ancestors, were not drowned in the flood. Could they all be Neanderthals?

No, Neanderthals were actually rather short and stocky.
But yeah, it seems odd there were a bunch of giants leftover from the flood. God failed again, I guess.
