people hear conspiracy and usually think martians or something

but many have been proven to be true

operation valkeriye and the assassination plot on FDR are just a couple conspiracies that were true

no… govt. conspiracies is to corruption what science fiction is to real science.

Just like aliens and the fantastical is much more interesting than some dude spending hours on end looking into a microscope.

so it is that govt. out to control us for [insert master plan here] is more interesting than acknowledging plain old rich people just wanting to get richer.

at least thats what the Rich Aliens master plan is.

It is delusional to deny the existence of any government conspiracies, as most governments have obviously engaged in illegal conduct at some point- or as is often the case, quite a bit. Many such incidents have been well documented.

What’s important is to be able to distinguish a legitimate belief that the government is up to no good, compared with the outlandish and bizarre claims made by many conspiracy theorists. Conspiracy theories are affected by the following:

* The extent of the conspiracy is vastly overinflated.

* The alleged activities of the conspiracy are outlandish, often impossible, and/or there is no discernible reason why any government would carry them out.

* Evidence for the conspiracy is sketchy, and legitimate evidence that the conspiracy does not exist is discounted.

* The extent to which the conspiracy is hidden is overestimated. Many, many illegal activities by the government are brought down by as little as a clerical error a disgruntled employee.
