This was disproved in the 80s. Pluto was discovered during the search for Planet X but was not declared to be it. In 2003-2005 a dwarf planet now known as Eris was discovered and confirmed. It is larger than that of Pluto. It was also not regarded as Planet X. Planet X is now mostly considered the term used for any undiscovered planets in the solar system.
