Q&A: Why do people believe in conspiracies?

Why do people believe in conspiracies?
Why are so many Americans buying into the idea that the government would lie? What nuts! They think the Gulf of Tonkin incident is staged, even though the NSA admits it was staged! What a quack! What a kook!

They say that the government proposed to fly jets into buildings, even though it’s declassified in Operation Northwoods! What nutjobs! What lunatics! They question what the government tells them! They are conspiracy nuts!

Answer by Pluto C. Rat

Nah, they’re just pulling our legs. Good one, NSA!

  2. Vonnegut says:

Believing in something you have no facts over is a sign of paranoia. There certainly are conspiracies that have occurred, but without facts, I can neither indict, nor vindicate a conspiracy theory.

    Remember, it’s only a “theory”… like gravity.

Because the Koch brothers astro-turfed the tea baggers?

Nothing but your OPINION. Some “conspiracies” ARE true. Keep being a faithful believing citizen, that’s how they want you to be. Never think for yourself, just go by what you are told by the government and others.

Because they’re simple minded…and it’s far easier for them to accept that the government is out to get them than it is for them to accept the truth…

Next thing you’re going to try to tell me is that a bunch of inbred social parasites control our global monetary system. You can’t fool me! You are saying the sky is blue but that’s just wild conspiracy! The sky is red, it says so in google news! You probably think carbon-dioxide is vital for plant life and essential in the process that provides oxygen for us to breathe. Lunatic! You and your fancy 3rd grade biology think you’re smarter than Al Gore? You probably think food is for eating too. You’re silly ;)

Because they have seen proof with their own eyes.
