Why do so many people strongly believe that the September 11th attacks were conspiracies?
It just seems ridiculous how people could think of such a thing, and I apologize for bringing up this question. But are these people serious or are they just trying to be at the center of attention?
BJ Palin: Explain.
Alan: Please explain further, what kind of lies are you talking about? The war? The economy?
Graybeard: I was just wondering why people believe our government was behind it. But thank you for your input.

Answer by BJ Palin
Because it was a conspiracy.

Mostly due to mental illness. All you have to do is go to youtube where they love to prove just how crazy they are.

Because the world is full of greed and deceit and lies and turmoil. Governments are expert at brainwashing the people and creating mayhem. Noone knows what to believe anymore. The world is in chaos and trust is something that has flown through the window. I’m in despair and totally bewildered by the constant lies being thrown at us on a daily basis.

Definitely the war and the economy. And in particular, the lies from politicians – here I refer to British politicians, and particularly the ones in power. David Cameron has not kept a single promise he made before the election. Such blatant lies makes me wonder how true everything else we hear on the news is or how much covering up there may be. If conspiracy theory is rife, it is little wonder since the truth is often twisted or at least bent to make things look different from the reality.

Palin’s right, but it was a conspiracy by the nutjobs who planned the attacks and flew the planes. The hard part is explaining people who think that it was a conspiracy by the US Govt and such like. For some, it’s paranoia and fear. For others, they seem to revel in being part of some secret revealed inside knowledge that explains things they don’t understand. Add in those that simply believe most of what they hear, and you’ve got a lot of serious (and wrong) people afoot.
