2012 predictions……….?
How does this sound as a prediction
In the bible it says everybody is going to die by burning. The Mayans say that the world is going to end in 2012. So all these natural disaster like earthquakes and stuff sped up the earths rotation and lined it up on the solar system differently. So the faster the world is getting gravity is going to expand and its going to have to slow back down. When it gets normal speed it will either end up colliding with other planets or bring in hot UVB rays. Meanwhile we have an oil spill happening and spreading. Once gravity comes back to normal the UVB rays might burn the oil and kill everybody that way. Its kind of like a puzzle and you have to put it together.
does that sound accurate

Nope this doesn’t sound at all accurate or plausible. The 2012 ‘prophecies’ have no scientific basis, and nor do they hold any stead in actual reality. This tall tale began through rumors and were made up to sell books.
Natural disasters have no effect on the earths gravity and the earth lining up with the other planets is a natural phenomena
No, that simply sounds like complete gibberish.
(By the way, the Mayans never said the world is going to end in 2012; all they said is that it would be time to flip the page of their calendar and go to the 14th b’ak’tun. The people who claim the Mayans said the world is going to end are crooks alive today, who want to sell their crappy books to ignorants.)
wonderful
Nope.
Gravity does not “go away” or “come back”, even during “alignment”. This has been demonstrated at many points in history.
Many of the oil slicks in the Gulf are already burning, as a deliberate measure to control its spread. The amount of oil involved is not enough to burn the whole freaking world.
UVB would not set it on fire. Once ignited, oil burns slowly, rather than in the manner of some Hollywood Explosion.
The Mayans did NOT predict an apocalypse for 2012. They “predicted” the end of a baktun cycle of their calendar.
So, basically, it’s entirely INACCURATE. Feel free to set yourself on fire, though, if you’re particularly wedded to the concept.
Damn, for real? Where in the bible does is say that we’re gonna burn? Damn..,
None of these are scientific predictions. You’d do as well reading tea leaves.
Since you are asking in the Astronomy & Space category, here is a list of astronomical events which are predicted to happen in 2012:
Mars opposition: March 3
Mercury eastern elongation: March 5
Venus eastern elongation: March 25
Saturn opposition: April 15
Mercury western elongation: April 18
Annular eclipse of the Sun: May 20
Partial lunar eclipse: June 4
Venus transit: June 6
Mercury eastern elongation: June 30
Venus western elongation: August 14
Mercury western elongation: August 16
Neptune opposition: August 24
Uranus opposition: September 29
Mercury eastern elongation: October 26
Total eclipse of the Sun: Nov 13
Jupiter opposition: December 2
Mercury western elongation: December 12
No apocalypse? No Armageddon? That’s because astronomers aren’t predicting anything like that. Who are you going to believe: scientists or people trying to sell you books, TV shows, and movies?
NO just NO. The world isn’t going to end in 2012. You want the world to end then wait 6 billion years till the sun turns into a red giant and the earth gets completely swallowed up or gets scorched by the sun. Now thats a real end of the world. So no the world isn’t going to end even if we get killed by an asteroid or something it’s not the end of the world It’s going to be the end of the human race and life other than humans might thrive on Earth without us. Do you want the human race gone? I sure as hell don’t want to and I look forward to the future of us going into space and being more technologically advanced then look to the future where the world is going to end and i’m hiding in a basement all scared that the world is going to end when it’s not. Instead of studying that about 2012 why don’t you study science that is real.
