2012 predictions, yes another one of those but seriously?
What are all ur guys’ predictions? First off I think something big is going to happen soon, not necessarily in 2012 but soon. All in all unless earth explodes or we go off axis and planets start colliding into us it won’t be the end. I think the government knows what is coming and isn’t telling us to prevent mass hysteria and have underground secure facilities and have a list of who all will be allowed to reside it in during mass chaos. Personally I think a polar shift is coming… Not the end of the world but many many are going to die and we will relive the stone age for awhile after the polar shift ends. Teachers/engineers/scientists/computer whiz’s and children are all top of the list. Anybody who isn’t an important asset to society will be doomed. As for the earth ending, I could see that happening as well. Our solar system rotates on a perfect axis, one slip up and planets could easily start colliding into earth and boom were gone.. Its that simple.. I just can’t see our solar system rotating at a perfect axis forever nothing lasts forever. But I think scientists will be prepared and know when thats going to happen and we will nest on another planet. When its all said and done I don’t think humans will ever become extinct. Scientists are too smart if we knew what they knew we’d all be panicking right now.
to the guy who said our solar system doesn’t rotate on a perfect axis. I may have worded it wrong so lemme say it this way i watched “how the universe works” on the discovery channel and they clearly stated that all the planets that rotate around earth is consistent. One slight movement and it could change the gravitational pull and cause planets to collide into earth… Sounds logical to me…
To the guy who asks for evidence on scientists/government knowing whats to come… How can i give you evidence?? Its simple logic…system… You cant say for sure you can either believe it or not but i’m not the first to consider this theory. Whos to say the theory began with a leak from the government? But in the end its obvious what the smartest thing to do is and that is to not tell us. You tell us a major disaster that could threaten millions of lives is coming what do you think will happen? It will be bad in so many ways….

My prediction for 2012 is that none of the things you, or anyone else, have predicted will happen.

What do you think? Answer below!

Honestly, I don’t believe anything is going to happen. Not any time soon anyways. Weren’t we all supposed to die like how many times? xD but anything could happen. 2012 is just another “i’ll believe it when i see it” kind of things (:

21st Dec 2012 will be a sad day because I suspect a large number of people will commit suicide rather than face the supposed apocalypse. Those who don’t will be left with a massive amount of supplies as the end of the world fails to occur.

That is a pretty rambling set of statements, for which you really should provide evidence. Because as a scientist, I know you won’t be able to do so, let’s just take a look at a few of your ideas. Pole shifts, better described as magnetic field reversals, occur over thousands of years, and not over night. They have happened many many times in the Earth’s history without causing harm to anything. Next thing, you say our Solar System rotates on a perfect axis. It doesn’t, and it cant “slip” anywhere. There is no such thing as a “perfect axis”. It is flattering to be called smart, I guess, but as far as Armageddon is concerned, we have no foreknowledge that you accuse us of. Any underground facilities the Government has are for reasons of national security, and would be useless for the purposes you describe. I don’t know how old you are, but you clearly have little schooling in the sciences. Perhaps you should be rather more selective in your reading matter, and avoid the more extreme ends of You Tube. My (really) scientific predictions for 2012? Other than a transit of Venus, nothing astronomically exciting is going to happen, other than a meeting of the International Astronomical Union in Beijing China, which I will be attending. At the end of it, 2012 will fade gently into 2013, and all the silly predictors of doom and despondency will have to find a new date to frighten children and the uneducated with.

My prediction is that absolutely no polar shift will happen in 2012.
(not to be confused with the wandering magnetic pole)

I also predict that the planetary orbits are very stable and will continue orbiting this way well past the death of the sun itself.

I also predict that new technollogy will come that will prevent any such slip back to a stone age.

[It is obvious we don't see eye to eye, and you are not going to give me a best answer, but give it to somebody who agrees with you - but I will have the last laugh on this page on January 1, 2013!]

  5. Patrick Sy says:

on 2012 what will happen is Solar Maximum, it’s the period of greatest solar activity in the solar cycle of the sun that happens within 12 years or so. Solar flares would burst out of the sun continuously and rampantly that it might fry our satellites and other electronic communication devices. NASA predicted that this time it could be devastating unlike what happened decades ago. A billion dollar industry could be at stake when worst case scenario happened. Short term effects, people who bathe under the sun is more prone to skin cancer. Long term effects? prolonged recession of the economy.

  6. Magic Square says:

You have way too much time on your hands.

  7. Choose a bloody best answer. It's not hard. says:

Riiiight. So, what makes you think each of those things?

  8. GeoffG says:

Unless there is some freak coincidence, NONE of these things are going to occur in 2012. Bad things happen EVERY year, so any little thing that happens, someone will mutter, “Oh, it’s 2012 again.” It’s started already, with people muttering “2012 is coming, starting early.” It’s well known in psychology, called “confirmation bias.” Look it up!
