Did the people who spread the rumor about Doomsday 2012 have any science in their brains?
I mean seriously did Jose Arguelles have any science in his observation of the Mayan Calender?
Answer by Josh
Who the hell is Jose Arguelles and why would I care what he believes about the Mayan calendar?
What do you think? Answer below!

2012, and the doomsday theory, is based on an actual, observable alignment of the solar system with the center of the galaxy.
That doesn’t mean that what they say is going to happen will happen…_+)
No, I don’t believe they do. The galactic alignment people don’t seem to question whether that precise alignment has occurred before in the history of the world. Evidence strongly suggests it has (in 1998, even, according to Wikipedia), and the world did not come to a remarkable, clattering end on any of those occasions. The significance of 2012 is merely drawn from the coincidence that this alignment occurs on the solstice, which just happens to be the last day in this particular cycle of the Mayan calendar. And no one should be surprised that the Mayan calendar ends on a solstice — it’s not a sign of doom, just of accurate solar observation. Their arguments do not stand up to reasoned examination.
But of course, the ultimate vindication will occur when we all wake up on December 22, 2012.
Manifestly not.
Throughout history humankind has had a strong penchant for cant, superstition, the supernatural, nonsense and general rhubarb. The Mayan calendar 2012 thing is just another manifestation.
Remember the Y2K computer meltdown? It never happened, and neither will this.
