No one but God knows that.

No, 2012, speficially 12/21/12 is not a doomsday, nor is it a hoax. It it because the last known mayan calendar ends on this day. Here’s the details:

The Mayan calendar is rather complex, and is made up of groups of days, rather like weeks and months but there are more of them. In the mayan calendar, today reads as

    12.19.14.12.18

Using their calendar it’s true that Dec 21st 2012 will read as

    13.0.0.0.0

    Cool number, I’ll admit.

But the Mayans used a base 20 system, as opposed to our 7 day / 12 month system.

The number in the long calendar aren’t going to run out until October 13th 4772. Mayans probably just went out as far as the 12′s because that seemed far enough at the time.

We’ve got ways to go before we start to sing about the end of the world :)

2012 is sometimes claimed to be a great year of Spiritual transformation (or apocalypse).
Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the thirteenth B’ak’tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order.

It should be noted at this point that December 21 2012 is not just another end-time prediction. This date marks a moment in time that has been foreseen and foretold by a variety of ancient cultures throughout the world, each without knowledge of the other. In addition and at the very same time, we will be witnesses to not one, but two astronomical events that have not taken place for 26,000 years. Many believe that absolutely nothing will happen on this date. Other see this as the coming of the end of the world, and still other believe that we are in for some sort of physiological change. Never the less, there is absolutely no doubt that something is on our horizon, and it is up to each and every person to decide for themselves what they believe.

I encourage you to continue to learn as much as you can about this subject and visit “www.December212012.com” often for the latest news and video updates about December 21 2012.

It is the time when the world will have a need or a desire to bring spirituality back into their lives. More children right now, and soon will /are being born with spiritual thoughts, ability to sense things intuitively, and the ability to see the Other Side.
More of Earth will want to destroy with natural disasters, since it feels humans are ruining her , but the new children will be here to help us try to look at things in a less materialitic manner. This may stop te natural disasters if ithings go well, if not we will see a lot of what we’ve been doing regarding pollution and other things, about to mess up our futures.
Man will wage more wars, as we always do-But this time people are going to be against them more so then for them.
We will fear it and run to spirituality again for help. We aren’t turning from science, but we are using it for more good than evil.
We will want to think more about our actions, or at least our children will. It will be a slow progress, evolution ALWAYS is.
It’s just teh end of one time and moving on to the next.
Same as usual. We went from philosophers, to religions to empiricists to scientists, and now we are heading back to spiritual things that we lost once.

2012 marks the end of the Mayan Calendar. According to their civilization it is the end of time. However, keep in mind, it is the end of their time. That civilization is long gone.

People will do anything to make money. Even by making documentaries on television to scare the crap out of everyone.

The insightful meaning of 2012 is the shift of human consciousness that will expand to a higher level. No need to worry about the end of the world. It is actually a celebrated time for our people.

Technology and Science will expand greatly. Diseases will be cured, introduction to flying cars and sky cities. Humans are going to become more advanced in every level.

2012 marks the beginning of that period. It is the end of the old way of life and the beginning of a new destiny for our people. Even if there is a flood from the melting ice. Humans will still advance in a very large way.

Many changes are coming. It is a time to celebrate.

Stop worrying about end-world predictions that have NEVER come true. Nothing will happen on December 21, 2012 of any revelance to our modern world. Consider other end-world predictions: Nostradamus predicted: In 1999 the Great King of Terror will come from the sky. And who can ever forget: Y-2K??? These predictions failed to come true in our own life times.

According to the Meso-American long count calendar that date signified the end of an era when Creation moved (or shifted) into a different cycle. They discerned this by gazing at the stars. Like so many other cultures they were concerned with what was going to happen to them then and not with what was going to happen to an unknown people in the 21st. Century. How accurate were their predictions? Well, let’s keep in mind that for the most part the people who created the Mayan calendar are already… Gone. Not gone the way of the dinosaur, but assimilated into the rest of current main-stream society & culture. Did they forsee their own end by assimilation? Apparently not!

People get all bent out of shape thinking that that’s where the Mayan calendar ended. Their calendar was not computer generated. They were chipping away at stone and may be that’s just as far as they got in their calendar making before they were overrun by enemies, plague or some other natural disaster.

We should not worry about when the world will end. We should all strive to be better people and leave this old world a little better than what we found it. Don’t worry. Be happy. The doom-sayers have yet to be right.

    Best.

I watched a thing on this last night on History channel, and have thought about this for years. This used to frighten me, but now I think that it means nothing.

Think about all the stuff that is going on in the world- war, terrorism, droughts, plague- it has all been going on for centuries, and at the same time people have been “predicting” the future (or end of it). I think that doomsayers see these things happening and automatically it is the end of the world. …

If you are a Christian then you know that there will be peace between Israel and it’s surrounding areas about 3.5 years before Jesus returns, and there is no peace there yet….

Now, they DO say that on Dec. 21, 2012, the earth, sun and moon will be aligned, and that this will mess with the magnetic force. (This happens every 25k years). Scientists say that in a WORST CASE SCENARIO the poles could shift, but the is a WCS, and we have technology now to monitor this type of thing, and there would be some warnings going out if they found that this is going to happen. It is happening, but very slowly….perhaps an asteroid will hit the Earth in upcoming years, but NASA is working on technology to take care of that….

…Don’t worry like I did! I honestly don’t think that anything will happen. But some people really like to make predictions, and lets just humor them. But I am 85% sure NOTHING will happen….

    Jake.

Anyone who thinks 2012 is the end of the world is ignorant, there have been 220 end of the world predictions, how many where right?
