Is the world really going to end in 2012?
I’ve been hearing a lot about the world ending in 2012 and at first I thought it was nothing but now I’m getting a little worried because I heard something on the History Channel about how the alignment of the planets will cause a famine and we will all die of starvation. Is this accurate? Does anyone have any evidence of what is really going to happen or is this another Y2K type scare?

No, it’s not going to end. I’m in my 40′s & there have been several “Doomsday dates” that have come & gone, and people who believed in them have always ended up looking silly. Don’t worry about this, it’s ridiculous.

I heard 2013 lol; but it’s not true at all.
This rumor has been induced because when the Aztecs made a calendar they stopped before 2012 (or ’13, I can’t remember).

No sweetheart the world is not going to come to an end, I’m in my late 40′s 49 to be exact, and like billy b said there have been several “Doomsday Dates ” and I’ve been through all of them, and look I’m still here raising hell, it really cracks me up when I hear such ridiculous nonsense, and the most amusing thing about it is , there are some “knuckleheads” out there that believe in that kind of nonsense and they are a bunch of IDIOTS, But you watch, I’ll probably be getting a “Violation Notice” in my e-mail because of my response to your post from one those IDIOTS but I’m not worried, as I have far more better things to concern myself with

The Sun will eclipse the black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy, an event that happens every 26,000 years. When that occurs on December 21, 2012, the magnetic poles will shift and the rotation of the earth will go in the opposite direction. The tectonic plates that cover earth will move radically. Mountains will become seas and new land masses will form in the matter of minutes. Most human life and all technology will be destroyed. The survivors will be thrust into a caveman-like environment, and will have to adapt to survive.

The “2012 doomsday” is a hoax. It’s a fraud. It’s a con job. It’s a cruel and cynical lie being promoted by unscrupulous pseudo-scientific cranks who have a monetary interest: They want to sell their books, videos, ‘survival kits’, and spaces in non-existent shelters in Antarctica. They also want to divert attention from the fact that they have been wrong so many times before. It’s also being pushed by people who are promoting a Hollywood disaster movie due out later this year.
All of the claims of ‘predictions’ by the Maya, the Aztecs, the Chinese (I Ching), Nostradamus, Sir Isaac Newton, Edgar Cacey, “Mother Shipton” are false: they did not make the claimed predictions. Predictions by others such as José Argüelles, Terrence McKenna, Nancy Leider, Mark Hazelwood and others are contrived pseudo-scientific nonsense.
There is no “Planet X” or Nibiru. If someone claims that this object exists, then I (and others in this forum) have been asking for the RA/Dec coordinates for it. If they can provide those coordinates and allow independent verification of its existence, then they can collect $ 5,000 from http://nibiruchallenge.blogspot.com.
There will be no ‘pole shift’, either geographic or magnetic. There will be no ‘killer solar flares’. There is no ‘Photon Belt’. These events are fiction. There will be no ‘galactic alignment’ or ‘planetary alignment’ of any kind, and we will not pass through the central plane of the galaxy, and even if these events were to occur, they would not cause any problems for us.

This scam about the world ending in 2012 isn’t true. It’s all just a silly hoax. It maybe true that that mayan calendar ends but, it doesn’t mean the world is going to end. One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world. The Mayan Calendar has to end sometime. Besides, nobody can’t predict when the end of the world is. You shouldn’t always believe what you hear from other people. The scientific evidence about 2012 doesn’t go together. Those who spread rumors about 2012 should be punished. You know what is sad, people may commit suicide over this thinking its the end of the world. Or maybe some people would get unwise with their money and spend it all like crazy and be in thousands of dollars in debt, just because they thought the world would end. Then they have to pay it off later and deal with the stress of those bills. That’s why those who spread rumors about 2012 should be punished. You know what else is false about this 2012 garbage?
• Planet X (Nibiru) isn’t going to hit the Earth it doesn’t exist.
• Poles are switching everyday, this isn’t going to happen all in just 1 day. This process takes thousands of years. Throughout geological history there has been may pole switches and life has still survived.
• Also people are saying these poles will switch in one day due to a black hole. That’s NOT true. The nearest black hole to our galaxy is 1600 light years away.
• Sun will be lined up with a sunspot, but it doesn’t mean it will wipe out all life on Earth. One time ago, Earth was lined up with a sunspot and people were on it and everybody didn’t just die.
• There is not going to be catasphoic earthquakes.
• No coment will hit Earth or asteriods.
• These cultures such as the Japanese, Mayans, Japanese or whoever didn’t predict such a thing. As I just said, this is just a scam to make money off of ignorant people who don’t look at the facts.
• If you have been watching the Hysteria Chanel about 2012 or anything like that, all they are just trying to do is scare people so they can make money.
Each time the end the world is predicted. They are always wrong. Here are all the predictions of when the world would end and each time they where wrong. Every year there is a prediction like this. I’m sure that if 2012 doesn’t happen, they will think of something else. Through out history the end has been predicted but has never happened. Also, think about this. If the Mayans were able to predict the future, why couldn’t they see what would happen to their society in the future?
I can provide even more proof that the world won’t end in 2012 if you need me to.
