However, I don't base any of my beliefs on any of the silly stuff you've listed. Mine is all Biblically based and if you look at the world today, and you study Bible prophecy, you can see that everything is aligning for the 7 years of tribulation. WWIII is on the horizon, the European Union is creating the powerful position that will be held by the anti-christ, bird flu is on the verge of becoming a terrrifying pandemic - it currently kills 75% of those it infects and if that rate doesn't drop, we could see 1 billion deaths from it when and if it becomes easily transmissible between humans. Sounds like a Biblical plague of Revelation to me. Ebola is also brewing in Uganda. Don't believe me, look that up. There's a potential super strain of Ebola right now that is causing people to run into the countryside. The hospitals are deserted - not only will the patients not go to them but the doctors and the rest of the hospital staff have also left after several health care workers were easily infected with Ebola recently, and died within 24 hours of exposure to an infected patient. Anyway, lots of crazy stuff is going on now. Maybe we'll still be around in 2012, and maybe we won't. I happen to think that something huge is going to happen in 2008 - probably the beginning of WWIII, and Iran and Russia will attack Isreal.
