There is no reason to believe it will be different with this prediction (if in fact it even is one -- which many scholars doubt). Only God knows the future, and the most comforting truth I can tell you is that the future is in His hands -- and His hands alone. Yes, some day the world as we know it will come to an end -- but not one second before God causes it to happen. In that day, Christ will return to earth to overcome all evil and establish His kingdom of perfect peace and justice. When will that be? Jesus warned us not to make guesses or firm predictions, because "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Matthew 24:36). At the same time, the Bible does tell us that certain things must take place before Christ returns -- and many of those are happening today. The most important question, however, is this: Are you ready for the day when you must stand before God -- either because of death or because of Christ's return? Don't dodge that crucial issue, but make sure of your salvation by trusting Christ and giving your life to Him today.
