Would it be ignorant to disregard the Mayan’s predictions of the cataclysmic event in 2012?
Considering their vast knowledge of astronomy and the stars, it only seems fitting they could be right.

I saw the movie and it was tragic. No thanks
Give your answer to this question below!

No it’s reasonable.
I’m 42 and have lived through so many end of world prophecies, that if I’d have wet my pants over all of them, I’d now be in a mental institution.
Some of those were Nostradamus ones. And he was pretty respected too.
YES.
NOW THAT U KNOW THE TRUTH, U RUN.
U RUN 4 UR LIFE.
PLANET X NIBIRU IS COMING 4 U BRO.
Considering the end of the world has been predicted many times in many ways, I’m not even considering it as a possibility.
It’s ignorant to believe that there was any prediction at all.
The Mayans did not predict the end of the world in 2012. Just because they don’t have it on their calendar, does not mean that they ever said “we think the world will end in 2012″. The descendants of Mayans today don’t believe that either.
Also, do you seriously think that “their vast knowledge of astronomy and the stars” is superior to modern science?
They did not make that prediction. A book which I have read called The Mayan Prophecies suggested it as possible scenario mostly to sell the book. It is a hard read with a lot of astronomy math in it.
No, it would be ignorant to take it seriously. While their knowledge was exceptional for their technology, we have far surpassed them.
“Considering their vast knowledge of astronomy and the stars,”. Yeah, maybe for their time. But compared to our knowledge of space, they seem just as ignorant as their counterparts in the Middle East 2000 years ago
