Recent UFO Sighting near Venice Beach, CA. WTF was that??

On June 18th of 2010, I shot a time lapse from my balcony while i slept. When I woke up and reviewed the footage I found something interesting. My first reaction was that it was a shooting star…but then I did the math. Based on the angle of trajectory, this thing was heading in a straight line towards the earth. Based on the rate it moves across the screen and how its shape changes, it appears to be traveling away from us. Because the object is slightly blurred (compared to the sharply focused stars moving thru the sky) it isn\’t too far away, but must be far enough away that it wouldn\’t crash into the ground in which it appears to be heading. Theories? For those who insist this is another instance of RODS, consider two things: this object was slow moving and this video was shot in progressive mode (not interlaced). RODS occurs with fast moving objects and is often caused by the two separate fields in interlaced video creating an optical effect aka RODS. NOTE: Aside from slowing the speed down and zooming in, this image has not been manipulated.
