1) The International Space Station is not shutting down. It is expected to continue functioning until at least 2025. 2) I can think of no reason to why Comet Elenin would pose a danger to the ISS. It’s so tiny, that all it took was a solar wind to obliterate it. There is nothing left from that comet, just icy chunks of ice.
